Flight 1 from XNA to DFW: Approx. 50 min Flight 2 from DFW to OGG (Kahului Airport, Maui): 8 hours, 37 minutes, 56 seconds Time spent sitting at OGG waiting for a rental car: 3 hours The drive from OGG to The Ritz-Carlton Kapalua Bay: 1 hour (approx.)
Safe to say it was a long travel day.
Day 2 – February 17, 2019
It rained this morning, but it rains every day so that’s nothing out of the ordinary. We discovered last night that our hotel is a little over an hour away from the airport and about 35 minutes away from the city, but you’re driving along the coast most of the time, so no complaints this morning (last night was a different story). We had lunch at Mama’s Fish House, which is now officially my favorite restaurant ever. Only problem is I can’t afford to eat there ever again.
When we got back to the hotel, I decided to explore the area. I found this really cool maze on the beach – not big enough to walk through, but it was fun to look at.
Day 3 – February 18, 2019
My first (and last) ever helicopter ride. Don’t get me wrong, it was amazing, but after the pilot spun us around in a circle, the nausea set in and I was finished.
As much fun as I had on the helicopter, the highlight of my day was my first ever luau. The food wasn’t great, but the show was one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen! Naturally, it started raining during the performance, but they gave us ponchos before the show so we were prepared.
Day 4 – February 19, 2019
We took a guided tour down the road to Hana. It was worth seeing, but I don’t think I need to do it again.
Day 5 – February 20, 2019
I’m glad I got to experience Maui, but if I ever come back, I’m coming straight to Honolulu. We got up this morning, checked out of our hotel, and made the hour-long trip back to the airport to get on a puddle-jumper to Honolulu. Not my favorite flight ever, but I’m glad I’m here now. I found it a little ironic that we had to spend over an hour at the airport for a 30ish minute flight.
Day 6 – February 21, 2019
Day 7 – February 22, 2019
Day 8 – February 23, 2019
HOME. Finally. I didn’t really sleep on the flight at all, but not for lack of trying. For now, I’m too tired to

As a photographer, I find nothing more rewarding than capturing people’s memories through the lens. Senior portraits, in particular, are a great way to mark the end of a chapter in a student’s life and the beginning of a new one. Recently, I had the pleasure of taking senior portraits of Emily, a soon-to-be student […]
I’ve been photographing Zoie and her family since she was 12, so when her dad sent me a text saying she wanted me to take her senior portraits, I said, “when and where!?” We shot Zoie’s senior pictures around the Fayetteville Town Center during golden hour.
For those who don’t already know… I’m famous. That’s right, back in 1992 I was on LIVE! with Regis and Kathie Lee. Why? Because my mom is cooler than your mom. You see, I was born almost three months early and spent 60 days in Phoenix Children’s Hospital, where I wasn’t expected to live. Clearly, […]
